Pros

Depending on your needs, there are various benefits to having a Huntsville sectional adorn your family room, living room, den, or lounge. There are plenty of color options, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right match to go with the rest of your house; the polyester exteriors are easy to clean with a water-based cleaner or shampoo, so you can even take care of shampooing the sofa yourself and save on hiring a professional; the foam and filling are extra soft (the armrests as well), so you’ll really enjoy spending time on this sofa; this model is pretty light and is easy to assemble, so you can take it out of the box and have it in place and ready within minutes (all you need to do is attach the legs in pre-drilled holes at the bottom of the sofa and chaise); and the pricing is in the right range for small families, young adults, and even students living in college dorm rooms, so you won’t really need to save for long once you decide that this is the sofa that you want to go for.

Cons

Because the legs of the sofa are made of plastic, they may sustain dents or cracks, or even break outright over time, regardless of the fact that extra legs are usually provided with your purchase. Also, different people prefer different levels of softness and firmness. Although this sofa is quite soft, some of the cushions are actually a little firm, meaning you will have to wait for them to be broken in over the first few weeks or perhaps the first month or two after buying it before it is at the comfort and firmness level that you are looking for.

Numerous complaints about delivery also came up. In a few cases, there was damage to seams and the armrests during delivery, and many people complained of there being inadequate packaging for the entire sofa. One customer was delivered a sofa with an extra piece of delivery packaging screwed onto the side of the sofa which they were unable to remove, and that kind of thing simply ruins the look of the entire sofa piece. Also, although construction of the frame and stitching of the cushions and arms is of average and acceptable quality, this is not a sofa that will last you more than a few years.

There were also several instances in which substantial damage to the sofa was sustained during delivery. Broken back panels, scuffing of edges, chipped armrests, cracked frames, and loose stitching were complaints that were surprisingly common. On top of this, customer support was docked several points by many customers for not replying to customer queries in a timely fashion, or for not updating customers with regards to questions or requests for replacement and for information and updates on the status of orders.

Conclusion

This product has done quite well because it is quite affordable for most people. Beyond conveniently fitting most budgets, it also fits most types of families and most types of living spaces. From having a formal setting in your den to having a more casual layout in your family room, the artistic designing that has gone into the Huntsville sectional makes sure that this product seamlessly becomes part of your home’s overall design.

In terms of negatives, however, because it is a little cheap, this is not a sofa that will last you a long time. You may, in fact, even end up with product damage during delivery. Cushions that need breaking in, frames that don’t hold out to high pressure, unresponsive customer support, and plastic legs that need to be fitted into holes that are sometimes not even there (as was the case with one customer) may give you a healthy dose of reservations before deciding to buy this sofa.

All in all, though, we are happy with what the Huntsville sectional by Alcott Hill has to offer. Developing, designing, and manufacturing a reasonably-priced sofa that is easy to install, is light, and comes in more colors than many different seating options on the market is no small feat. Given that there are plenty of people who may trade in durability and product lifespan for convenience, ease of assembly, affordable cost, color options, quick delivery, and overall comfortable seating, this is as good an option as any in a sub-$500 price range.
